PHOTOS: 2024 Great Cardboard Boat Race held in Longview

LONGVIEW, Texas ( KETK ) – The 2024 Great Cardboard Boat Race was held at Teague Park in Longview on Saturday to raise money for the Greater Longview United Way .

This year the Greater Longview United Way invited the community to embrace the Mardi Gras spirit through this year’s “Let the Good Times Reaux” boat theme. To enter the race adult teams had to pay $200 and youth teams had to pay $100 to enter.

There were many cardboard trophies handed out for different boating categories on Saturday and Tamalocos Mexican Food Restaurant won the trophy for Most Mates.

The Longview Fire Department also attended the event with their non-cardboard boat to make sure any upturned boaters stay safe.
