The police department said they opened an investigation into the threats shortly after and detained the minor. The suspect was then taken to the Gregg County Juvenile Detention Center and charged with felony terroristic threat.

“The Longview Police Department encourages parents and guardians to visit with their children regarding school safety,” Longview PD said. “Statements of violence towards any of our campuses will be taken seriously and investigated to the fullest extent by the police department.”

Pine Tree ISD said they were made aware of the online threats Friday evening at their home football game

“We want to remind parents to talk to their students about the seriousness of making any type of threatening comments,” Pine Tree ISD said. “We will always take every threat seriously because nothing is more important than the safety of our students and staff.”
