Monday Night Forecast: Tropical Storm Francine heads to Louisiana, rain chances increase locally

All eyes are on the Gulf of Mexico as Tropical Storm Francine is gaining strength. The storm is located south of the Texas Coast and is expected to gradually turn toward the northeast. This motion will take the storm into Louisiana Wednesday afternoon, likely as a Category 2 hurricane. Locally, minimal impacts are expected. A few passing showers/storms in the outermost bands will be possible in Deep East Texas on Tuesday, spreading further inland across East Texas by Wednesday. Overall, rainfall totals will be light, generally under an inch.
