UT Tyler pharmacy hosts white coat ceremony for class of 2028

TYLER, Texas ( KETK ) — 42 first-year pharmacy students at the University of Texas at Tyler participated in a white coat ceremony, marking the beginning of their pharmacy careers.

“Receiving your first white coat is a significant milestone that signifies the beginning of a lifelong
commitment to patient care and professional excellence,” Dr. Amy Schwartz, Fisch College of Pharmacy dean, said. “We are excited to welcome the class of 2028 and watch them grow into
compassionate and skilled pharmacists.”

During the ceremony, class of 2028 students recited the Pledge of Professionalism while wearing their white coat, “symbolizing their commitment to prioritize clinical service and care.”

For students interested in 2025 fall admissions, UT Tyler’s Fisch College of Pharmacy will host an open house on Nov. 7 from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the W.T. Brookshire Hall lobby. Those interested will have the opportunity to meet with facility and staff.
