    Man sentenced to 55 years in prison for 2017 Longview murder

    LONGVIEW, Texas ( KETK ) – A man was sentenced to 55 years after pleading guilty to a 2017 murder.

    Gregg County deputy hit by driver charged with DWI ‘expected to make a full recovery’

    28-year-old Cody Fortman from DeSoto was sentenced in a Gregg County court on Tuesday.

    He pleaded guilty back in June 2022 to the murder charge.

    He is charged in connection to the death of 22-year-old Nicholas Trevion Johnson, a Longview man who was found dead from gunshot wounds in a home on Annette Drive.
