    1 injured in Longview shooting after ‘verbal altercation’, police say

    LONGVIEW, Texas ( KETK ) – The Longview Police Department said that one teenager was shot on W. Edgefield Avenue in Longview on Saturday.

    Longview PD officers responded to a shooting in the 100 block of W. Edgefield Ave. at around 3:38 p.m. on Saturday. Longview PD said that responding officers found a teenage victim who had non-life-threatening injuries after getting shot.

    According to Longview PD, the shooting happened after “a verbal altercation escalated into an exchange of gunfire.” A suspect in the shooting reportedly left the scene before police arrived but was later found at a home in Harrison County.

    Alejandro Gonzalez, 18 of Longview, was arrested for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and taken to the Harrison County Jail, Longview PD said.
