“Unfortunately our city has suffered over the last 3 days due to the flooding that has occurred in our city. For 2 days we evacuated about 500 people from flooded houses and the losses the city has suffered will be counted in millions,” Michał Kryla, spokesperson for the mayor of Jelenia Góra, said.

In response, the president of Tyler Sister Cities Michael Howel announced that the organization would fundraise for the city in distress.

Tyler Sister Cities said that on Sunday, the city alerted more residents for evacuation as the flooding continued and a shelter for affected residents has been set up.

“The collected funds will be transferred to the most needy residents,” Kryla said.
