62-year-old Longview man dies from injuries after getting hit by SUV

LONGVIEW, Texas ( KETK ) — A 62-year-old Longview man has died from his injuries after a Monday night wreck.

The Longview Police Department said on Monday around 7:50 p.m., law enforcement was dispatched to a crash in the 1500 block of Alpine Road involving a vehicle and a pedestrian.

Officials said the vehicle, a Ford SUV, was traveling southbound on Alpine when a pedestrian allegedly failed to yield the right of way and walked out into the roadway where he was struck by the SUV.

The pedestrian, 62-year-old Johnny Ray Johnston was taken to a local hospital where he later died from his injuries.
