50th annual Salt Festival pours through Grand Saline

GRAND SALINE, Texas ( KETK ) – The 50th annual Salt Festival poured through the streets of Grand Saline on Thursday with their kick-off parade.

The festivities on Thursday included the parade and their live gospel music night. The fun will continue on Friday with a luncheon, bingo and live music from Billie Jo Jones and WHISKeYFISH.

“We put a lot of work into this one because it is the 50th,” said Tammy Chitty, president of the Salt Festival board. “This year is very exciting.”

On Saturday, they’ll have even more festivities downtown like a car show, horseshoe tournament, cornhole tournament, a quilt show, a street dance and more. To learn more, visit the Grand Saline Salt Festival Heritage Association on Facebook.
