Longview ISD mourns junior who died of leukemia

LONGVIEW, Texas ( KETK ) – Longview ISD is in mourning following the death of Adsila Sarah “Sila” Tramel from leukemia on Friday.

“Our hearts are broken as we mourn the loss of this remarkable young student,” said Longview ISD Superintendent Dr. Marla Sheppard. “We extend our heartfelt condolences to her family, friends, and everyone whose lives she touched and inspired through her tremendous courage and faith.”

Tramel was a Longview High junior, a cheerleader, a soccer player and a flute player.

Longview ISD said they’ll have counselors available to students and staff this week for support.

“We encourage anyone who needs help to please reach out. Our thoughts and prayers remain with Sila’s family and friends during this incredibly difficult time. We kindly ask that everyone respect the family’s wish for privacy as they grieve.”
