From The Archives: East Texan Kadie Lynn Roberson sings on America’s Got Talent

TYLER, Texas ( KETK ) – In this From The Archives report, we are going back to 2017 to celebrate an East Texas country musician on the rise.

Kadie Lynn Roberson was making waves in the country music industry after her performances on America’s Got Talent.

“It was a very chaotic experience but it was such a thrill it was so amazing. I got to the semifinals and I didn’t know I was even going to make it past the first round,” Roberson said.

Despite not winning it all on America’s Got Talent, Roberson came back to East Texas and was met by love and support from her community as she continued to pursue music.

Aside from her recognition in the music world, Roberson also had to juggle normal parts of life, like going to public high school.

“Normal to Katie is singing and being on stage in front of people, that’s normal. Going to public school to her is exciting and a plus, its something new to her,” Kadie’s mom said.

Roberson was recognized at the Texas Country Music Awards in Carthage, where musicians both new and old come together like a family.

“Texas country is a land of its own, we have our own style and we have everything we need to make good country music,” one attendee said.

In 2017, Roberson was awarded as the young artist of the year, on the night before her 14th birthday.

“Not too long ago I was in the East Texas Music Awards and now I’m in the Texas Country Music Awards and I just think its so amazing,” Roberson said. “I believe if I take the right steps and the right trails, that I’m on my way”
