TYLER, Texas ( KETK ) – A Walk to End Alzheimer’s was held on Saturday in the UT Tyler Patriot Plaza.

Longview walks to help end Alzheimer’s disease

Dozens of East Texans gathered in Tyler to share stories of how their lives and the lives of their loved-ones have been impacted by Alzheimer’s and to raise money to help find a cure.

“It’s such an important cause. We all have people in our family or close friends that have experienced Alzheimer’s or other dementias. And I just think as a community, we need to do everything, everything possible to try to to try to find a cure for this disease,” said Shannon Trest, manager with Walk to End Alzheimer’s.

Participants in the walk held different colored flowers to show how their lives have all been affected by Alzheimer’s in different ways.

KETK reporter, Rachel Davis was out there on Saturday serving as M.C. for the event. To learn more, visit Walk to End Alzheimer’s online .
