Suspect in custody after reported shooting in Kettering

KETTERING, Ohio (WDTN) — A person is in the Montgomery County Jail after a shooting reportedly occurred over the weekend in a Kettering neighborhood.

Around 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 14, officers were dispatched to Irelan Street in Kettering. A spokesperson confirmed to 2 NEWS that a shooting took place.

Although individuals were not hit by gunfire, the suspect and another individual sustained “minor injuries,” according to the spokesperson. The injuries suffered reportedly resulted from a “physical altercation” that occurred prior to the shooting.

The suspect was taken to the hospital for medical treatment, and then to the Kettering Jail. Currently, the suspect is being held in the Montgomery County Jail on numerous pending charges.
