Dumped boat pulled out of Yakima River in Prosser
PROSSER, Wash. - An abandoned boat was found by police officers in the Yakima River near the Crawford Park boat launch in Prosser on July 2. After an investigation, PPD officers found that the boat, called the Savannah Babe, was from the Tri-Cities and had been dumped and left in the river.

Strike Teams standby in Yakima after call for state mobilization
YAKIMA, Wash. — The Yakima County Fire District had help this week from state mobilization efforts, coming directly from the Washington State Fire Marshall’s Office. YCFD 5 posted to their Facebook this week, explaining that Yakima County was approved to receive help from the state. This help would come in place as strike teams pre-positioned themselves in Yakima in case of wildfires.
Clayton trailer fire extinguished by Spokane County firefighters, no injuries
CLAYTON, Wash. - Spokane County Fire District 4 (SCFD 4) firefighters successfully prevented a trailer fire from spreading early this morning. According to SCFD 4 officials, firefighters were alerted to a trailer fire during the early hours of Saturday, July 13. Upon arrival, fire crews discovered that a neighbor had noticed the smoke and quickly used a water hose to help contain the flames before the firefighters arrived.
