The Los Angeles Fire Department was dispatched for a traffic collision in the 4400 block of Van Nuys Boulevard around 12:46 a.m.

LAPD was alerted to an officer-involved crash at the location. Officers responded to the scene where three vehicles were found curbside with collision damage, including an unmarked LAPD sedan.

One person who was inside the unmarked police vehicle at the time of the crash, was transported to a local hospital. An off-duty LAPD officer was also involved, according to an LAPD Valley Traffic officer. There was no information regarding the condition of the officer.

The driver of the vehicle that slammed into the back of the unmarked LAPD sedan, was assessed by LAFD paramedics for injuries. A field sobriety test was administered by an LAPD officer at the scene, and the driver was subsequently arrested for felony DUI.

Ambulances were requested to the scene for neck and back pain, according to Officer Drake Madison with the LAPD’s Media Relations Division.

The LAPD unmarked vehicle appeared to have been parked at the time of the impact, which pushed the police car into another parked vehicle.

    There are no further details.
