Los Angeles Fire Department personnel responded to a reported traffic collision around 10:50 p.m. in the 21000 block of Parthenia Street, where they found a two-car crash involving multiple victims.

While on the scene, firefighters reported hearing what they thought were gunshots and requested backup, prompting additional resources to respond.

Los Angeles Police Department officers also arrived and issued a high-priority “officer needs help” call.

After investigating, authorities determined that a nitrous oxide gas canister, also known as Galaxy Gas, had exploded, and no shots were fired.

Four individuals were transported to the hospital due to injuries from the collision, and at least two people were arrested for unknown reasons.

LAPD’s Valley Traffic Division is handling the investigation into the cause of the collision.
