Earlier today, U.S. Border Patrol Agents and local law enforcement responded to an influx of illegal immigrants landing in Key West. According to U.S. Border Patrol Acting Chief Patrol Agent Samuel Briggs II, law enforcement responded to the migrant landing at around 4 a.m. The group traveled in a large sail freighter carrying more than 120.

Monroe County Sheriff’s Office showed dozens of people sitting down on the side of a road.

Briggs said first responders were evaluating people at the scene. The migrants, ranging in age from children to older adults, are now in Border Patrol custody where they will be processed for removal proceedings. Earlier this month, 11 illegal aliens in exile from Cuba were met by law enforcement at Higgs Beach, which is also located in Key West.
