A state corrections officer assigned to a unit that houses sex offenders has been charged with engaging in sexual conduct with a child. Carmine J. DeVone, 60, of Metuchen, is accused of abusing a child in his care by allegedly attempting to inappropriately touch her and watching her shower, according to details included in a criminal complaint filed last month by the Union County Prosecutor’s Office.
