LOS ANGELES (CNS) - Detectives sought the public's help Wednesday in identifying the driver in a hit-and-run collision on May 15 that left a pedestrian severely injured in South Los Angeles.

The victim, a 41-year-old man, was crossing the intersection of 65th Place and Western Avenue at around 8:30 p.m. when he was struck by a black sedan, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

The driver fled the scene continuing northbound on Western. Police said a side mirror recovered at the scene possibly matches a 2016-22 Chevrolet Malibu.

A reward of up to $25,000 is available to anyone who provides information leading to the identification, apprehension or conviction of the suspect, according to the LAPD.

Anyone with information on the case was urged to call Detective Karla Carrillo of the department's South Traffic Division at 323-421-2500, or the watch commander at 323-421-2577 or 877-LAPD-247. Tipsters may also call Crime Stoppers at 800-222-TIPS, or use the website www.lacrimestoppers.org.
