News of the closure was shared through a heartfelt sign on the door that read:<blockquote>It has been our pleasure to serve our customers and this community for more than 29 years! You have been wonderful and want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for making us your destination to share so many memories with.</blockquote>Even the Mendota Mayor chimed in about the closing saying, "This restaurant has been a landmark and beloved local spot for years, known for its great food and atmosphere. It will be missed by the community and all the regulars who made memories there." According to <a href="https://bringmethenews.com/minnesota-lifestyle/axels-steakhouse-to-close-this-month-after-decades-in-mendota">Bring Me the News.</a><a href="https://axelsrestaurants.com/locations/mendota/">Axel's</a>, previously known as Parker House, in Mendota will be closing its doors on September 30th, marking the end of an era that’s spanned nearly three decades.There is one other Axel's Steakhouse in <a href="https://minnesotanow.net/">Minnesota</a> that can be found in the Radisson Hotel in Roseville.</div></body>
