According to the Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Office, deputies attempted to stop 38-year-old Leland Meece, who was wanted on warrants including felony domestic violence and possession of stolen property.

Deputies canceled the chase after less than half a mile when Meece sped off down South Pennsylvania Avenue and blew through the intersection at 89th Street. He then reportedly crashed into several vehicles, injuring himself, his passenger 29-year-old Callie Dotter and three other people.

Meece was taken to the hospital after being injured in the crash. He now faces additional charges of felony eluding and assault and battery on a police officer.

Dotter was also arrested on several outstanding warrants.
