EDMOND, Okla. ( KFOR ) — Nathan Pease and his wife were with their 10-year-old son driving East on Danforth St. in Edmond on July 20 when another driver pulled in front of them, leaving the family shocked with the events that followed.

“Car pulled out in front of us at a stoplight, I honked at him and the guy gave us the bird. And so we slowed down and he actually pulled a gun out and he pointed it,” says Pease.

The driver’s actions left him and his wife stunned.

“It was just shocking that something from like a honk would escalate to him pulling a gun out on, you know, a woman and a child in the car with me,” said Pease.

After the gun was allegedly pointed towards Nathan’s wife in the passenger seat, they called 9-1-1.

“We read off his car information as far as his tag and the make and model of everything on his car,” Pease adds.

Edmond Police caught up with the suspect in a business parking lot. Court documents say the suspect asked officers if he was pulled over for road rage.

The suspect claimed he was pointing the weapon at his transmission.

“He was trying to swerve into me, they were trying to pop me with their car,” said the suspect.

Edmond Police then proceeded to ask the suspect, “Did you ever think to call us or anything?”

The suspect responded, “I didn’t think to call you all because I didn’t feel like he was trying to hit me or anything.”

Despite the suspect’s admission, Nathan says officers asked if they filmed the incident.

Court documents indicate Outraging Public Decency may be the only charge the suspect faces.

“This guy’s just out there. He got away with it. And even admitting that he did it,” says Pease.

Officers told Nathan’s wife on the phone that if they had video proof of the suspect pointing the weapon, it would’ve been easier to bring felony charges in this case.
