    UPDATE @ 10 P.M.

The Love County Sheriff’s Office says several firefighters were treated for heat related issues. One firefighter was transported to a local hospital but was sent home and is expected to be okay.

Officials say local crews have left the scene and an industrial fire service has taken over. The building is expected to keep smoking for the next few days.

MARIETTA, Okla. ( KFOR ) – A Dollar Tree distribution center previously damaged in an EF4 tornado in April caught on fire Friday morning.

The city of Marietta was impacted by a devastating EF-4 tornado that swept through the area in April 2024, including the distribution center. There were no injuries when the tornado hit the distribution center, but the extensive damage caused the center to close down .

According to the Oklahoma Department of Transportation, both lanes of southbound I-35 were closed at SH-32/Memorial Dr. in Marietta due to heavy smoke.

    The highway has since re-opened.

Marietta Police encourage drivers to avoid the area.

The Love County Sheriff’s Office says as of 12:30 p.m., firefighters are still working on the fire in the north section of the building.
