    6-year-old injured after being struck by car in SW OKC

    Officials say the driver of the car was arrested for driving without a license.

    UPDATE @ 5:51 P.M.

    The six-year-old boy who was struck by a car on Friday afternoon is in stable condition and is expected to survive, according to OKCPD.

    UPDATE @ 5:09 P.M.

    OKCPD says that prior to the accident, a mother and her six-year-old child were about to cross the street at S Western Avenue when the mother noticed a car coming and stopped. The child reportedly didn’t stop and was hit by the car.

    Police say the driver stayed on scene and called 911. So far, nothing indicates that the driver was impaired or driving recklessly, but the investigation is still ongoing.

    Police also told News 4 that while the extent of the child’s injuries are still unknown, the child was alert when being taken to the hospital.

    OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) — A six-year-old child has been injured after being struck by a car near SW 17th and S Western Avenue on Friday afternoon.

    According to Oklahoma City Police, the child has been taken to OU Health for treatment.

    No other information regarding the child’s condition or the cause of the crash is available at this time.
