WEATHERFORD, Okla. ( KFOR ) — Students living in Mann Hall at Southwestern Oklahoma State University say enough is enough after dealing with constant elevator issues at their dorm.

Madison Munden, a freshman living on the seventh floor, says its been a frustrating experience.

“It’s so frustrating, especially after walking around all day,” says Munden.

Another student, who asked to remain anonymous, says the the conditions were horrible on her move-in day.

Housing staff is aware of the problem.

“We’re trying to get it fixed as soon as possible,” says Boone Clemmons, the Vice President of Marketing at SWOSU. “It’s been worked on in May and June where we were sourcing parts and unfortunately because of the elevators age, we were unable to get the parts in a timely manner to be able to fix it.”

Samuel Coleman is another student with complaints, living on the fifth floor.

“It’s very frustrating not having the elevator fixed because the stairwells are also not very air conditioned,” says Coleman.

A News 4 employee also went to school at SWOSU a couple years ago and had problems with the same elevator.

Clemmons wants parents and students to know that the students are their biggest concern.

“We’re hoping that it’s fixed by mid-semester,” says Clemmons.
