Court documents reveal new details after body found in NE OKC

OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) — Court documents released on Wednesday reveal new details about the events that lead to the death of a man whose body was found in a car in northeast Oklahoma City.

“I would say it’s a little surprising because I guess it doesn’t happen over here,” said Bertrice Abercrombie, who lives nearby.

Crime tape was strung up near Northeast 16th and Kelley on Monday evening after a man was found dead in the backseat of a car.

“It’s really kind of a shocker,” said Abercrombie.

New court document state that hours earlier, 32-year-old Jessica Yeahquo got into an argument with the father of her child at a Denny’s along I-35 on Monday morning.

Yeahquo reportedly told police that when she got into a car following the argument, the victim jumped on the hood.

“It appears they were living in and out of this vehicle,” said Sgt. Dillon Quirk with OKCPD.

Oklahoma City Police said the man, “fell off the hood and she ran over him.”

Yeahquo told police she tried to free him by backing up, leading to her “running him over a second time.”

Yeahquo said he eventually got back into the car with road rash-like injuries to his arms. The victim was reportedly holding his leg and stomach, complaining that his ribs were hurting.

She told police she tried to doctor his road rash at a car wash before driving to a friend’s house, then later picked up a friend to run errands all day. The victim remained in the backseat the entire time.

Yeahquo told officers she could “hear the victim moaning during the day” but the friend told police they didn’t hear moaning and “thought the victim was asleep.”

Officers also said Yeahquo told her friend she had run someone over that day but “waited nearly an hour to tell them who she had run over.”

Police were eventually called to the scene where he was pronounced deceased.

“Suspect was there at the scene,” said Quirk.

Yeahquo was taken to jail on second-degree murder complaints.

“It was different because this is a quiet neighborhood,” said Abercrombie.

The documents do not specify how long it took for the suspect to die from his injuries.

Yeahquo allegedly told police she didn’t take him to the hospital because he didn’t want to go. She also told officers she didn’t call 911 because she didn’t want to get in trouble.

The victim has not yet been identified.
