SHAWNEE, Okla. ( KFOR ) — A Midwest City family returned from a Labor Day vacation early, after finding out their dog is missing.

The Green Family left their four Shih Tzu’s at HoliDog Inn Room & Groom in Shawnee.

They called to check on the dogs a day after dropping them off and that’s when they found out two of their dogs got out. One of the dogs, Bubba, was still nowhere to be found.

“I don’t know if there was already a hole or what, but they were able to get out and these are tiny dogs, so they could fit through a small gap,” said Joshua Green, owner of missing dog.

He believes they were not being watched.

Although staff searched for Bubba, the Green’s are frustrated with the lack of communication, saying it was over 24 hours until they were notified.

“At least people would have known, we could have had people we know with his favorite treats out searching, Josh could have came back sooner, we would have had a better start,” said Danielle Green, owner of missing dog.

The Green’s say they would also like a full refund or for the facility to cover the cost of the reward, however they only received a partial refund.

News 4 went to the facility to find out what happened, however, the owner did not want to go on camera.

He did tell us this was the first time they’ve lost a dog in more than eight years.

They also made a Facebook post about missing Bubba shortly after we left.

The Green’s had to cut their vacation short and have been looking for Bubba ever since.

“You just want to do everything you can to get him back and it’s the pain of not knowing is the hardest part,” said Joshua.

The family says they will continue to search until they find Bubba and encourage you to keep an eye out.

A reward is being offered and anyone with information is asked to call (402) 432-8248.
