    WATCH: Edmond athlete Derek Loccident’s Journey to the Paris Paralympics

    OKLAHOMA CITY ( KFOR ) — Former UCO football player Derek Loccident lost his leg in a horrible accident in 2018, but miraculously recovered and was back on the football field within a year playing in a prosthetic leg. Now, six years after that life altering day, Derek is representing Team USA in the 2024 Paralympics in Paris.

    Derek talks about the accident, his inspiration to train again, and his incredible bond with his mother.

    Derek is a multi-event athlete competing in the 100 meters, javelin, long jump, and high jump.
