    Gas leak near Putnam City West HS leads to lane closures

    Oklahoma Natural Gas sent News 4 an update about the gas leak near Putnam City West High School earlier on Tuesday.

    According to ONG, no one was injured and no customers have been affected after a third-party contractor hit a gas line along NW 23rd.

    Repairs to the gas line are expected to be completed Tuesday night.

    UPDATE @ 12:27 P.M.

    News 4’s Adria Goins reports from the scene that the leak was caused by a construction worker hitting a gas line.

    All afterschool activities are also expected to continue as normal.

    ORIGINAL STORY

    OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) — Oklahoma City Police and Fire closed lanes at NW 23rd and Eagle Lane down to Overholser Drive following a gas leak near Putnam City West High School on early Tuesday afternoon.

    According to Putnam City Schools, all students and staff are safe, and school operations are continuing. The district also said students will be able to leave the campus as needed.

    Drivers are advised to avoid the area or expect significant delays as crews continue working at the scene.

    News 4 will provide additional updates as more information becomes available.
