NORMAN, Okla. ( KFOR ) — What was supposed to be a routine oil change at a Take 5 in Norman, has now turned into bigger issues for a Norman mom of two.

“We went on that Wednesday to get our oil changed, everything seemed like normal,” says Inkenman. “I went through a couple days of work, on Saturday evening, I wasn’t able to make it out of the parking lot. Immediately I could smell the oil and after that I realized my car was not going to keep running.”

After the oil leak, she says she spent over $100 to tow her car back to Norman, from Oklahoma City where she works.

Inkenman says Take 5 told her they were taking her car to another shop and that the leak was their fault.

News 4 went to the Take 5 in Norman to ask about Monica’s car and spoke with the store manager.

“Once I submit a claim, it’s out of my hands. Another department deals with that, I’m not going to answer any questions comments or concerns,” the Take 5 store manager said.

Inkenman’s SUV was taken from the Take 5 in Norman, to a Pepboys in southwest Oklahoma City.

Their store manager could not go on camera, but told us Monica’s car has just been sitting there, and that he’s sent all necessary paperwork that Take 5 asked for. They haven’t gotten back to him either.

“I spent over an hour yesterday on a circle of waiting lines of let me put you to this person and then when that goes to a voicemail, I end up calling them back and go, okay, well, that one went to voicemail,” Inkenman said.

Inkenman says her hands her tied.

“We have to work. I mean, yes, I’m lucky enough to have parents who will help us, but it’s not their responsibility,” she said.

In an effort to get Inkenman answers, News 4 reached out to Take 5’s corporate office and received the following statement.

Customer satisfaction and quality service are of the utmost importance to Take 5 Oil Change.

We are actively reviewing this customer matter and are working with a third party to provide an independent assessment of the issue. We understand the importance of resolving this matter and are working expeditiously toward that goal.

Got a friend who said they messed up his vehicle at Take 5 in Norman too, then lied about it, even though he saw them do it.
