Oklahoma State’s football team used a potent passing game to rout Tulsa 45-10 at Skelly Field in Tulsa on Saturday.

OSU quarterback Alan Bowman passed for 396 yards and five touchdowns, going 24-for-31 through the air.

His TD passes went to four different receivers, with De’Zhaun Stribling catching two of them.

Stribling caught 7 passes for 174 yards, and Talyn Shettron had three catches for 110 yards.

While Tulsa had trouble stopping OSU’s passing game, they did hold Cowboy running back Ollie Gordon to 41 yards on 17 carries.

The Cowboys got the ball first and went 75 yards in 16 plays, eating up 6:22 on the clock.

Brennan Presley gained 22 yards on a reverse, then caught a one-yard touchdown pass from Alan Bowman to finish the drive and put OSU on top 7-0 with 8:38 to play in the first quarter.

Tulsa moved the ball into OSU territory on their opening possession, but Seth Morgan missed a 44-yard field goal attempt wide left with 5:34 to play in the first quarter.

The two teams exchanged punts, then OSU began a drive in the first quarter that ended in the second quarter.

The Cowboys went 65 yards in 10 plays, with Bowman passing to De’Zhaun Stribling for an 8-yard touchdown pass to finish it and give OSU a 14-0 lead with 12:47 to play in the second quarter.

After forcing another Tulsa punt, it took the Pokes just three plays to score.

Bowman went deep and found Talyn Shettron for a 78-yard touchdown to extend the lead to 21-0 with 9:05 to play in the first half.

Tulsa moved the ball for the first time on the ensuing possession, as Kirk Francis passed deep to Kamdyn Benjamin for a gain of 37 yards.

The Golden Hurricane turned the ball over on downs, however at the OSU 14-yard line.

After a personal foul penalty turned a 4th and 5 to a 4th and 20, TU gained 17 yards but came up short of a first down.

OSU then went 86 yards in 6 plays to extend the lead.

Bowman passed to Stribling for gains of 35 and 23 yards, then found Josh Ford wide open for an 18-yard touchdown to make it 28-0 OSU with 3:23 to play in the second quarter.

The second half started with a pair of Tulsa punts, sandwiched around OSU turning the ball over on downs.

The Cowboys then had a quick strike drive, as Bowman passed to Stribling for a 63-yard touchdown to finish a two play drive, putting OSU up 35-0 with 8:19 left in the third quarter.

Tulsa moved the ball on their ensuing possession, but on 4th and 5 from the OSU 25-yard line, Francis was sacked by Kendal Daniels and OSU took over on their own 35.

The Cowboys gave the ball back quickly, as Bowman was intercepted by Jehlen Cannady at the OSU 38-yard line.

Tulsa gave it right back four plays later, as Francis was intercepted by Cam Smith, who ran it back 51 yards to the Hurricane 29-yard line.

That set up a 43-yard field goal by Logan Ward to make it 38-0 OSU with 1:53 to play in the third quarter.

Tulsa went three and out and had to punt.

OSU then inserted Garret Rangel at quarterback.

He led a 12-play, 56-yard drive, with Sesi Vailahi scoring on a one-yard touchdown run to put OSU up 45-0 with 10:05 to play.

The Golden Hurricane responded by getting a 43-yard field goal from Seth Morgan to make it 45-3 OSU with 6:15 to play.

After forcing a Cowboy punt, Tulsa put together their first touchdown drive, going 64 yards in four plays.

TU’s fourth quarterback of the game, Stephen Kittleman, kept on a 9-yard touchdown run to cut the Cowboy lead to 45-10 with 1:55 left.

OSU racked up 560 total yards in the game.

OSU has won ten straight games in the series.

The Cowboys improve to 3-0 on the season and will open Big 12 play next Saturday at 3:00 at home against Utah.
