OKLAHOMA CITY ( KFOR ) – Oklahoma City Police are searching for a suspect now on the run after allegedly pointing a gun at another driver, then crashing into a Mexican restaurant. Three juvenile passengers are now in custody.

Construction is already underway at Carnitas El Patron, near Southwest 28th St. and Western Ave., after a car barreled through the glass window and thick concrete early Monday morning .

Police said this was shortly after they got a call about a man pointing a gun at a driver. An officer quickly found the suspect’s car.

“The car took off, initiating the pursuit,” said Msgt. Gary Knight. “After a short while, the officer terminated the pursuit. Because he felt the conditions were getting too dangerous.”

After the chase was called off, police said the car crashed through the restaurant. The four people inside scattered.

“All fled. Three of them were taken into custody. All three were juveniles,” said Knight.

The driver is still on the loose. Now, everywhere you look inside the restaurant you’ll see plates, concrete, glass and motor oil. You’ll also find things from the car, like a bottle of alcohol, a license plate and a woman’s shoe.

But that’s not all that was found at the scene.

“A gun was recovered from inside the vehicle,” said Knight.

Police said thankfully, no one was hurt.

Those at the restaurant did not want to talk on camera. They’re not sure how long they’ll have to close their doors during cleanup.
