JONES, Okla. ( KFOR ) — The alleged suspect in the Friday afternoon Jones shooting has been identified as Michael Stevens. A neighbor who helped the victim after the shooting told News 4 that he stayed with him until first responders got there.

“He was hollering, you know, ‘help, help. I’ve been shot,'” said Kerry Sherman, a neighbor down the street.

A neighbor replayed the moments someone trimming the trees had been shot down the street.

“I opened up my gate and noticed how bad he was bleeding as he sat him down and said, hey, you know, I’ll be right back,” said Sherman.

After that, Sherman called 911 for help.

Oklahoma City Police said Friday afternoon two neighbors had a dispute over the property line near Alexis Lane and Britton Road.

“At that point, an argument ensued between the victims that were out there and the neighbor,” said Sgt. Dillon Quirk with the Oklahoma City Police Department.

Police said that’s when Michael Stevens allegedly started shooting.

Bullets hit one of the tree trimmers as he tried to drive away and 10 bullet holes were left in the windows of the worker’s truck.

“[I] came back up to my gate while I was on the phone 911 and started applying pressure to his wounds,” said Sherman.

“That victim was taken to an area hospital, survived the shooting,” said Quirk.

McIntyre Law Chopper 4 was over the scene on Friday as it all began to unfold.

Chopper 4 pilot Mason Dunn said when police got there, the suspect was at the end of the road with his hands in the air and was taken into custody.

Police said another victim was inside the truck, but wasn’t hurt.

Three days later, the scene is now clear, but remnants of the shooting are still there in the quiet neighborhood as the truck and bullet holes sit parked under a tree.

“Hardly anything goes on out here, out of the ordinary. Very quiet, very quiet neighborhood,” said Sherman.

Michael Stevens is facing charges of assault and battery with a deadly weapon and having a gun after being convicted of a felony.
