Del City PD search for armed suspect after morning shooting, one injured

DEL CITY, Okla. (KFOR) – The Del City Police Department says a man is wanted after a Tuesday morning shooting fleeing near a local elementary school.

Del City PD says, officers responded to the 4300 block of Suntane Road at 7:53 a.m. concerning a shooting and upon arrival a male victim was found with a non-life threatening gunshot to the head.

According to police, the suspect armed fled on foot near the area of Townsend Elementary School where additional security was set up for arriving students.

Authorities confirm after a search conducted on foot, in vehicles and drone in the area the
suspect was unable to be located but has been identified as Gary Smart. Smart is a white male,
blonde hair, and blonde facial hair, last seen wearing a white tank-top.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Smart should contact 911 immediately, as he is still considered armed and dangerous, according to police.
