    Inmate recaptured after escape in Ponca City

    PONCA CITY, Okla. (KFOR) – Authorities in Sequoyah County confirm an inmate at Bridgeway Halfway House in Ponca City has been caught after escaping on September 7, 2024.

    According to officials, Lester Hampton, 62, was serving a 10-year sentence for second degree burglary when he went missing on Tuesday at 11:51 a.m.

    Election officials in at least 16 states, including Oklahoma, sent package with “suspicious substance”

    Officials confirm Hampton was caught in Sequoyah County near Vian on Wednesday morning at approximately 1:00 a.m.

    Hampton’s previous charges reveal he has escaped once from New Jersey, once from New Hampshire and now twice from Oklahoma.

    No further information has been released.
