    Local first responders head to North Carolina in wake of Hurricane Helene

    OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) – The Oklahoma City Fire Department says members of the OKC Task Force One left for North Carolina to assist local first responders after Hurricane Helene has left behind destruction in areas of the state.

    According to OKCFD, the team included several firefighters, police officers and IT technicians.

    The latest forecast shows Hurricane Helene inland and now listed as a tropical storm.
