    AAA adds cost of electricity to weekly fuel pricing

    OKLAHOMA CITY ( KFOR ) – AAA is expanding its weekly Fuel Gauge Report after more than 50 years.

    According to AAA Oklahoma, cost of electricity will be now be included in the report as U.S. motorists transition to electric or partially electric vehicles.

    The addition was announced as part of National Drive Electric Week, a week to learn more about electric vehicles and to recognize those who made the switch.

    “National Drive Electric Week is certainly a fitting time to recognize that electric vehicle ownership, once reserved for the rare auto enthusiast, has become so mainstream as to prompt AAA to add electricity to its weekly consumer report,” says Rylie Fletcher, spokesperson for AAA Oklahoma.

    Officials say the most recent report unveiled the nation’s top 10 least expensive states for public charging per kilowatt:

    1. Kansas (22 cents)
    2. Missouri (24 cents)
    3. Delaware (26 cents)
    4. Wisconsin (28 cents)
    5. Nebraska (29 cents)
    6. Texas (29 cents)
    7. Michigan (30 cents)
    8. North Dakota (30 cents)
    9. Utah (31 cents)
    10. Vermont (31 cents)

    The nation’s top 10 least expensive gasoline markets are

    1. Mississippi ($2.72),
    2. Oklahoma ($2.77),
    3. Texas ($2.78),
    4. Alabama ($2.78),
    5. Tennessee ($2.79),
    6. South Carolina ($2.79),
    7. Louisiana ($2.81),
    8. Arkansas ($2.82),
    9. Missouri ($2.88)
    10. Kentucky ($2.88).

    • Driving Costs : AAA’s ‘ Your Driving Costs ’ report provides a comparison of costs related to EVs, hybrids, and gas-fueled vehicles.
    • Charging while traveling : AAA’s TripTik Travel Planner helps EV owners map out travel routes that include charging stations
    • Emergency Roadside Service for EVs : AAA continues to expand its fleet of Emergency Roadside Service vehicles that can provide a charge for EV owners stranded at the roadside.
