CLEVELAND COUNTY, Okla. ( KFOR ) – Two people are in custody after one person was shot and killed in Cleveland County Friday morning.

According to the Cleveland County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the area of 127th St. and Maguire Rd. in Slaughterville around 2 a.m. Upon arrival, they found a 21-year-old victim with a gunshot wound to the back. He was taken to a nearby hospital where he died.

“It’s kind of a surprise to me,” said Brice Handcock, friend of victim.

At this time, investigators are not releasing many details, including the names of the victim or suspects.

Handcock says he believes they all knew each other.

“Would just go over to his house all the time and just hang out, you know, and sometimes I’d come over there and hang out and they’d be there, but I never knew the boy to shoot him,” said Handcock.

Officials say the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation, Noble Police Department, Noble Fire Department and Norman Police Department helped take two suspects into custody.

Upon further investigation, authorities learned a 16-year-old suspect and a 26-year-old suspect drove to the victim’s home to allegedly rob him. The 16-year-old also received a gunshot wound to his ankle by the 26-year-old suspect.

The area has been declared safe and deputies are confident there are no other suspects.

News 4 requested the police report, but did not hear back.
