    UPDATE: All clear given as police investigate suspicious device in SW OKC

    UPDATE @ 2:15 p.m. – Police officials have given a “all clear” at this time. Police say, the ‘suspicious devices’ were some cooking utensils that had been in someone’s backyard the past week, and the ‘explosion noise’ was a transformer blowing nearby.

    ORIGINAL STORY

    OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) – Authorities with the Oklahoma City Police Department (OKCPD) say officers are on the scene in Southwest Oklahoma City after reports of a suspicious package at Fairview Elementary.

    Authorities say the students have been evacuated to a nearby school as a safety precaution.

    The OKCPD bomb squad is also on the scene after reports of some people hearing what sounded like an explosion.

    Police officials say, there is no evidence of an explosion. KFOR has a ground team and McInytre Law Chopper 4 headed to the scene.

    The scene is currently an active investigation.
