    Firefighters battle multiple grass fires near Guthrie

    GUTHRIE, Okla. (KFOR) — Several volunteer and city fire departments were sent out to put out multiple large grass fires near Guthrie on Friday afternoon.

    McIntyre Law Chopper 4 flew over the scene of a grass fire just north of Edmond near W Waterloo Road and Kelley Avenue, where several hay bales have caught fire.

    There are also reports of grass fires at E Waterloo Road and S Sooner Road, as well as Sooner and I-35 near Guthrie.

    Edmond, Guthrie, and Oklahoma City Fire Departments along with several volunteer fire departments have all reportedly joined the effort to battle the flames.

    The cause of the fires is currently unknown.
