Stramler Park set to host Michelada Madness & Chile Verde Cook-Off

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — Michelada Madness is set to return on Saturday, with a new element of spicy fun.

This time around, the Chile Verde Cook-Off will be taking place at Stramler Park with the Michelada Madness festivities, according to organizer Carlos Pena. The event runs from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. It’s a 21 and up event.

“We have added the Chile Verde Cook-Off to our event! The Chile Verde Cook-Off used to be hosted by Mike Miller of Amestoy’s,” said Pena. “He gave Miche Events his support with bringing this event back and adding it Michelada Madness.”

Pena says the cook-off will feature over 20 contestants, food vendors and more. Mento Buru, Califas and DJ Flex are just some of the musical performers who will be at the park.

The event is cash only, as no ATM will be on the premises.
