BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) – Thanks to Measure K funding, the Kern County Fire Department has been able to increase its enhanced emergency medical services for the community.

KCFD recently saw the graduation of its second Medical Unit Academy of trained EMTs and paramedics. This allows the department to strengthen its ability to respond to medical emergencies.

Along with the graduation, the department also added new Medical Unit SUVs. The cars contain state-of-the-art medical equipment and technology so the EMTs and paramedics offer the highest level of care to the community.
