BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — A man and his pug have been reunited after 5 years due to a microchip from before he went missing.

Gizmo, an 8-year-old pug, was brought into the Kern County Animal Services as a stray, and as always he was checked for a microchip.

Officials with the animal shelter say a microchip was found and the information was still accurate.

Gizmo’s owner was notified. Officials say, Gizmo’s owner moved to another town two hours away and drove to the animal shelter to pick up his pup.
