BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — A Bakersfield boy is off to “infinity and beyond” as he waved goodbye to his Toy Story toys on his first day of kindergarten.

Like many Kern County students, Wednesday was Conner’s first day of school.

Before heading to Laurelglen Elementary his friends Woody, Buzz Lightyear, Zurg, Forky, Slinky, Jessie, Rex, Bullseye and Hamm wanted to see what all the “buzz” was all about.

Conner’s mom, Brenda Carter, shared pictures with 17 News capturing the moment with Conner dressed up in his Buzz Lightyear gear for his first day of school.

School supplies: Here’s what they cost at 10 U.S. stores

Brenda told 17 News she got the idea from Pinterest. Connor is 5 years old and he has been a huge fan of Buzz Lightyear since he was just 6 months old.

She says she plans on taking this photo every year.
