Family creates GoFundMe after fatal domestic violence incident

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — Family members are looking for community support after a loved one was taken from them in a tragic domestic violence incident.

On Aug. 7, the family of Crystal Acevedo grieved after learning their loved one had been pronounced dead after suffering from a domestic violence incident that occurred on Aug. 3. Crystal, 36, was found unconscious in an apartment and was rushed to Kern Medical where she died four days later. This is an active homicide investigation, so limited details are available.

Family members say Crystal was an amazing daughter, sister and friend. The family asks anyone who can to donate to assist with unexpected funeral expenses and to support domestic violence victims. Organizers say once expenses have been met, the remaining proceeds will be donated towards the National Domestic Violence Crisis Center.
