    BPD searches for man who allegedly stole 200 gallons of fuel

    BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — The Bakersfield Police Department is asking for the community’s assistance in identifying a man who allegedly stole 200 gallons of fuel from a Samco Gas Station.

    Police say the incident was reported at the Samco Gas Station in the 3600 block of Rosedale Highway at about 2:10 a.m. on July 3.

    The man allegedly stole the fuel by breaking a lock and siphoning the gas from the underground storage tanks, according to police. He then left with about 200 gallons of fuel.

    Police describe the suspect as a man in his 40s with a black and gray goatee, black reading glasses, and a heavy build. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a red shirt.

    On the night of the incident, he was occupying a 2000s GMC Sierra truck with a large storage tank in the rear bed.
