BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — A water main break has caused flooding in an alley in downtown Bakersfield Friday afternoon.

Video from the area of M Street, between 19th and 20th streets, shows water flowing out from an alley and onto the streets. Businesses did not appear to be affected but water was pooling up just slightly over the curb.

Cal Water officials say the flooding is due to a water main break. The water has since been shut down for repair.

Customers bordered by 19th and 20th streets and L and N streets could possibly be without water in the area, but Cal Water says it is unlikely. If you are in the area and do not have water access, call 661-837-7200.

Officials are working to provide bottled water for customers in the area who may need it.

In the area, 20th Street is closed.
