BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — Two people were arrested on suspicion of drug charges following ‘suspicious circumstances’ on Tucker Road in Tehachapi.

On Aug. 19, officers were dispatched to the 800 block of Tucker Road for a person under the influence of alcohol and marijuana around 10:14 p.m.

At the scene, Joseph Lopez, 35, of Golden Hills and Rachel Stillman, 23, of Tehachapi were contacted in their vehicle.

Police say Lopez had two misdemeanor warrants, one was a no-bail warrant for assault.

A backpack with cocaine, glass pipes for ingesting narcotics, a digital scale and Lopez’s driver’s license was found in the vehicle. Both Lopez and Stillman denied ownership of the backpack, according to police.

In the vehicle, officers seized a total of 19.1 grams of cocaine and 9.9 grams of methamphetamine.

Both suspects were arrested at the scene.
