BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — A dangerous heat wave across the Central Valley continues Thursday, with an upper-level ridge intensifying overhead.

As we approach the end of the work week, triple-digit temperatures will be the norm until Sunday across the valley floor.

Extensive heat-related warnings and advisories are in effect along the West Coast until Friday. The 90s are projected to return by Tuesday, bringing a further cooldown with temperatures in the 80s by the week’s end.
