2 arrested in connection to fatal shooting in Lamont

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — Two men were arrested in Oildale in connection to a fatal shooting in Lamont in July.

Officials with the sheriff’s office say Gabriel Prieto, 23, and Romieo Narvaez, 24, were both arrested on suspicion of murder, robbery and conspiracy to commit crime.

Both were arrested in the area of Pine Meadow Drive and Citation Way on Sept. 5 for the July shooting.

Sheriff officials say on July 29 an unidentified 21-year-old man was found involved in a crash at the intersection of Georgetown Avenue and Field Street. The man was reported dead at the scene.

Witnesses at the scene said there were bullet holes found through the vehicle’s window.

The Kern County Coroner’s Office will release the identity of the decedent’s identification at a later time.
